Heiwa Review

The sea breezes that ruffle the cotton drapes at this beachfront hotel are almost as calming as the owners' Zenned-out approach. No wonder the low-key, simply furnished apartments are often booked up months in advance by returning devotees. With their colorful quilts, bright mosaic-tile bathrooms, and delicate table arrangements, the rooms will make you feel like you're staying with an attentive, arty relative. The incredible sea views more than compensate for the rather cramped bedrooms. The Japanese-Argentine couple who built the hotel have combined their heritages in the individual, bamboo-fenced patios, where barbecues have pride of place.
