Almacen de Ramos Generales

Almacen de Ramos Generales Review

This old general store is airy and charming, and its classic Argentine fare is consistently good. You can snack on picadas of salami, prosciutto, cheeses, olives, and eggplant "en escabeche" (pickled). The bife de chorizo (sirloin steak), meanwhile, is perfectly juicy, tender, and flavorful, all the more so when accompanied by wondrous French fries with basil. The atmosphere, too, is just right: it's country-store-meets-elegant-restaurant. No wonder locals and visiting porteños alike vie for tables—on weekends, reservations are essential.
