Fodor's Review

When the Paseo del Bosque, La Plata's biggest green space, was designed in 1885, this diminutive stone building was the men's changing room for the now-defunct public pools. Two or three trim booths are squeezed into the cozy space, but the best seats are at the outdoor tables under the trees. The rabas a la provenzal (calamari rings sprinkled with garlic and parsley) come in deep white-china bowls, and the steak sandwiches are juicy and well stuffed. A blackboard

displaying the daily main courses is tilted in your direction when you sit down. Dishes like glazed lomo (filet mignon) with wild mushroom sauce are a welcome addition to La Plata's more classic offerings. The Museo de Ciencias Naturales is a five-minute walk away.
