Health and Safety
Most mountains are not high enough to induce altitude sickness, but the weather can turn nasty very quickly. Sunglasses and sunscreen are essential. Although tap water is safe to drink throughout the region, most travelers still choose to drink bottled water. Do not approach or let your children approach sea lions, penguins, or any other animals, no matter how docile or curious they might seem.
