Patagonia Travel Guide

When to Go

Late September to February—spring and summer in the Southern Hemisphere—is high season in Patagonia. Reservations are advised, especially September and October in Atlantic and December–February in Southern Patagonia. Although the summer sun can be strong, the winds whistle year-round, so always bring extra layers and a windbreaker. In Atlantic Patagonia, many properties close in April and May to prepare for the first whale-watchers in June and July. Southern Patagonia all but shuts down June–August.
