Fodor's Review

This remote complex of buildings on the tip of Península Valdés offers luxuries that are simple and old-fashioned: comfortable beds with chintz covers, a pleasant pub with pool and darts, board games, and utter tranquility under starry night skies. Best of all are the guided nature walks among the sea lions and elephant seals on its private beaches and horse-riding expeditions, all included in your stay. The staff also organize private trips to other points on the peninsula. The complex once housed a navy station, post office, and a little school, as well as the faro (lighthouse). Cordero al asador (barbecued lamb) is the star dish at the excellent restaurant; hotel guests have it to themselves at dinner, but tour groups tend to stop by for lunch in large numbers.
