Hernán Gipponi

Hernán Gipponi Review

This long, narrow room leading to Fierro Hotel's garden patio may not seem like a hot spot for creative cooking, but don't let appearances fool you. Using skills he honed while working for years in the top kitchens of Spain, chef Hernán Gipponi turns out some of the most creative food in Palermo, particularly fish dishes. While you can order from the à la carte menu, local foodies gravitate toward the changing seven-course tasting menu for 350 pesos. For lunch there's a three-course prix-fixe for 170 pesos. Backing up the kitchen is one of the better wine lists in the city, managed by a team of top sommeliers, as well as an excellent cocktail selection from the bar. Weekends are known for one of the city's most fabulous brunches.
