The long, narrow, cream-colored room leading to the hotel's garden patio may not seem like the "in-spot" for creative cooking, but don't let appearances fool you. The chef is turning out some of the most creative food in Palermo, with a skill honed by years of working in top kitchens in Spain. While you can order from the a la carte menu, local foodies are packing in for the daily changing 9-course chef's tasting menu. Gipponi is particularly deft with his fish dishes. Backing up the kitchen is one of the better wine lists in the city, managed by a team of top sommeliers, and an excellent cocktail selection from the bar.
