One of the few—if not the only—classic French brasseries in Buenos Aires, Petanque is a place to drop in, enjoy hearty French fare, and wash it all down with local wines. The ambience is lively, with marble-topped tables so close to each other that you may well find yourself participating in neighboring conversations (and vice versa). The best dishes are the most traditional, often the day's special, which repeat in rotation each day of the week. The sublime confit
de pato, or duck confit, is not to be missed. The owners have just opened a branch in Santiago, Chile, and have another one coming in Lima, Peru.
