Pippo

Pippo Review

Historic Pippo, open since 1942, is a porteño classic known for its simplicity and down-to-earth cooking. Pastas like tallarines and ravioli are the most popular choices, but also try the estofado (beef stew) or lomo (sirloin) with fries. For dessert, flan is topped off with cream or dulce de leche. It's in the heart of the Corrientes theater district; accordingly, don't expect particularly attentive service, but it's perfect for a pre- or post-show meal. The old wooden tables and tiled floors are tired, but for many they only add to the no-nonsense charm of the place.
