Hard-core tango fans shouldn't pass up a visit to the home of tango's greatest hero, Carlos Gardel. The crumbling casa chorizo (sausage house, that is a long, narrow house) has been restored with the aim of recreating as closely as possible the way the house would have looked when Gardel and his mother lived here, right up to the placement of bird cages on the patio. Concise but informative Spanish texts talk you through the rooms and Gardel paraphernalia, and there are lots tango souvenirs on offer in the shop.
