Fodor's Review:

There is perhaps no place that better represents Palermo Viejo's dining revolution than the bustling kitchen of Bar Uriarte, which is enticingly set in the front of the restaurant, exposed to the street. Inside lies a sophisticated bar with two intimate dining spaces. You can even take your meal while lounging on a sofa. Chef Paula de Felipe's dishes are as sleek as the surroundings. Best are the pizzas and other dishes that come out of the prominent wood-fired mud oven. For lunch, there's a ridiculously cheap prix-fixe. Discrete live DJs warm things up on the weekend.

We had a really nice dinner. Our server was friendly and accomodating, but she was so busy she didn't have time to ask us our wine choice until after the first course. Everything else was wonderful, but watch out - we were approached by a food runner?? about a taxi. It took a long time to arrive, and when it did he confirmed that we did, in fact come from the restaurant, after a while we noticed he didn't have the meter on. He mentioned something about it costing more than 15 pesos to get to our residence in Recoleta (it had only cost 9-12 pesos prior)..and when we arrived he tried to charge us 18. We suspect the food runner and the taxi driver had some sort of agreement, but that is only speculation. We suggest you arrange your own cab service - it is not difficult to find one in this area.
