The minimalist chic decor of this basement restaurant stands in stark contrast to the menu: down-to-earth parrilla fare at good prices. Catch a glimpse of meats sizzling on the grill behind the salmon-color bar -- the only swath of color -- then head to your table to devour your steak and chorizo (fat, spicy sausage). The homemade pastas aren't bad, either. The staff is young and friendly.

The food was very good and it had a very chic feel to it. However, arriving without a reservation we were made to feel almost like pariahs. We were placed at a remote table in the front corner of the restaurant even though there were clearly tables available everywhere in the restaurant. The service was perfunctory at best...almost as if we were an annoyance.

No mention in the review of the incredible salad bar that comes with just about every meal. For those of us who are tired of no greens, this place is heaven. Includes broccoli, beets, just to name a couple of things not always included. At least 30 items! And the pasta is better than "not bad." Try the pumpkin/chicken ravioli with the spinach sauce. You can even get a good glass of wine here for 4 pesos. I only posted here because the review didn't do this place justice. Filling, healthy, inexpensive and better than most. One downside: the meat I had was only so-so. Salad bar alone is worth the visit though. Can't go wrong.
