Calling to mind The Sound of Music, a group of nuns sings "Ave Maria" every night at this simple eatery. The holy sisters cook French food that, while not extraordinary, is satisfying enough. Trout baked in cognac and duck in orange sauce are two dishes that bring the locals back. In a restored mansion directly across from Palacio Torre Tagle, the restaurant is worth a visit just for a peek inside the centuries-old rooms. The furnishings, especially the plastic chairs, don't do justice to the glorious architecture. The nuns, members of a French order, run the place as a charity, so all profits are given to the poor.
