$-$$, Mexican, San Isidro
Fodor's Review:
You can't miss this cantina -- the three-story structure is an eye-catching yellow trimmed with royal blue. Once you duck under the star-shaped piñata hanging just inside the front door you'll realize that the dining rooms are in equally vivid shades of red and green. Happily, the food doesn't pale in comparison. Among the specials are barbacoa de cordero, which is lamb steamed in avocado leaves, and albóndagas al chipotle, a plate of spicy meatballs served with yellow rice. If you want to take home a bit of the magic, there's even a stand selling the namesake sweets.
