$-$$$, Peruvian, Miraflores
Fodor's Review:
It's no surprise that the food here is so good when you learn that owner Isabel Alvarez authored several cookbooks. The antique cooking vessels hanging on the walls reveal her passion for Peruvian cuisine. Start with chupe de camerones, a hearty soup combining shrimp and potatoes, then move on to arroz con pato, duck stewed in dark beer and seasoned with coriander. For dessert there's the meringue-topped suspiro de limeña, which literally means "sigh of a lady of Lima." Arrive early to watch the sun set over the ocean.
