A great place for lunch or drinks, and a favorite with businesspeople, the Bar des Arts is in a charming arcade near a flower shop, a wine shop, and a fountain. The Italian dishes are the best options, thanks to the Italian owner. Try the mozzarella-filled ravioli.

The restaurant is breathtaking as you first come in. There is a central piazza that splits the space into three main areas: the patio, the lounge, the interior dining rooms (three or four as I can remember) and it takes you away from the city as if you had entered a mystical place. It has a great wine store inside, so you can select from the wine list, or walk across the piazza to the store and pick your bottle of wine at store retail price. And the food... there are only a few rare occasions where the food hits your palate and gives a transcendent feeling - it may happen once a year or once in a lifetime -- well, Bar des Arts was one of those few rare occasions for this young guy and I am still waiting for the next one. Nothing so far - I guess I´ll have to stop back at Bar des Arts in the near future.
