Sophisticated is the first word that comes to mind when you enter this quiet restaurant with formal service and a giant panoramic window looking out onto a barely trafficked street across from Arpoador Beach. Moqueca is the specialty, made with shrimp, cod, lobster, crab, or octopus -- or a mix of them all. Meals are elegant and the seafood is fresh, but our favorite reason to go to Azul Marinho is to sit at its outdoor tables near the beach, enjoying early-evening appetizers, drinks, and sunset.

When I asked my concierge about a seafood restaurant, I couldn´t imagine how perfect it could be! Azul Marinho is unbelievable. Really refined, unique atmosphere (we could sit at outdoor tables, just next to the beach), great service and most important: Very good food! We had a " shrimp moqueca" and was amazing. As a big seafood fan I can say: Best seafood I´ve ever tried...Very good place to dinner. Highly recommended!!

My stay in Rio de Janeiro only make itself complete with good food. I buy the guide Rio for Partiers at my hotel and visited many of Rio´s best locations. One of my favourite restaurants, the Azul Marinho makes very good food with the "pargo" fish which everyone must try. Also the dishe called "moqueca", very popular in Bahia is made of shrimp in coconut milk and is the best. You go anytime, lunch and dinner, they are open. The location is the Arpoador which divides Copacabana from the Ipanema neighbourhood. Try Azul Marinho for authentic Brazilian food, you will not regret.
