BsAs shabby chic

I lived in BsAs for 8 months and this was one of the best little restaurants I found. Cool, shabbby, trendy... great starter of tomato ice cream, hot camembert, & pesto. Their bread is amazing too. The fixed menu lunch is average (I would bet that is the 1 bad review) but great value and superb food. The lamb was divine (or re-rico as they say down there.

The steak was tougher than Manolete

Ordered the 2 course lunch menu. My main dish was Beef Milanese, a sort of wiener schnitzel, more beef than veal. Pedestrian but edible. My husband had steak. He ordered it medium rare - it came very well done. No sword killed this animal - maybe a chainsaw. It was older than Methuseleh and tougher than a gambler's luck. The desserts - chocolate cake with ice cream and plum sauce, and chocolate marquise were OK, particularly the marquise, essentially a very firm mousse. The price $18 included a generous glass of malbec, and coffee. By coincidence we paid the same at Palaccio des Papas Fritas for a much better meal. To be fair the pretty waitress did offer to replace the inedible meat but by that time we'd lost interst. It was a cheap meal but not worth even what we paid. A total waste of calories. The only reason it scores 1 for food is I can't go any lower - my husband wanted me to put a minus five in the box. DON'T GO!
