Shopping Centers / Malls, Palermo
Fodor's Review:
A prime Palermo location, choice shops, and a pushy marketing campaign have made Alto Palermo popular. Giggly teenage hordes are seduced by its long, winding layout. Ladies who lunch sip espresso in the cafés of its top-level food hall. The 154 shops are particularly strong on local street-wear brands like Bensimon and Bowen for the boys and Akiabara, Ona Saez, and Rapsodia for the girls. Surf and skate store Cristobal Colón does as storming trade in board shorts and All-Stars; locally made versions of Puma and Adidas streamlined footwear disappear fast despite high price tags. Other international names include the ubiquitous Levi's as well as Spanish megabrand Zara, famous for its cut-price versions of catwalk looks that go on sale almost before the models are off the runway. The mall also has a cinema; if you prefer live entertainment, the Avenida Santa Fe atrium has a Ticketek booth.
