Fodor's Review:

Northern Argentine fare is served at this long-established, if touristy, spot. El Sanjuanino is known city-wide for its tamales, humitas (steamed corn cakes wrapped in husks), and especially its empanadas, which crowds of people line up to take out for a picnic in the park (they're 20% cheaper to go). But they also make good locro, pollo a la piedra (chicken pressed flat by stones), venison, and antelope stew; skip the boring, hamlike lomito de cerdo (pork steak). The decor in the cozy space borders on cheesy, with hanging hams and a stuffed deer head, but the feeling is still fun.
