Pine wainscoting and brown carpets set the tone in this lodge built in 1992 in the trees above the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The location is at the farthest edge of the Canyon Village, which means it's quite a hike to the nearest dining facilities -- and you have to pass through rows upon rows of cabins, parking lots, and roads to get anywhere; the payoff is a much quieter environment because it's away from the major traffic. Pros: Canyon location is central to the entire park. Cons: Far from dining and other service, with children you'll need to drive to restaurants.
