At more than 2.2 million acres, Yellowstone National Park is considered one of America's most scenic and diverse national parks. Established in 1872 in what is now the northwest corner of Wyoming, Yellowstone was the first national park in the world and was named for its location at the head of the Yellowstone River. At the time, people began to believe in preserving our natural wonders to ensure their longevity well into the future. As a result, Yellowstone is every bit as wondrous today as it was more than 130 years ago.
