Fodor's Review

There are countless corners of the park to explore, and Xanterra, which operates most park lodging and dining, offers tours by boat, bus, horse, stagecoach, and the famed Historic Yellow Bus. In the winter you can head into the park's interior in snow coaches and on skis, snowshoes, and snowmobiles.

Xanterrible is destroying our national parks

Xanterra continues to take over several of our national parks and ruin services, reap excessive profits, and mistreat their employees. I have been visiting Yellowstone for more than 30 years years and now live close by so often visit 5-6 times per year. This year Xanterra has taken over all of the larger campgrounds and destroyed a simple, effective, first come - first served system to create an unusable prepaid reservation system that shows no campground

sites open for more than 3 days for the rest of the 2016 season. Further they charge a full deposit cancellation fee if you try to cancel 2 days in advance ($15 for more than 2 days) and they mean 2 physical days not 48 hours from the check-in time. These crooks need to be thrown out of the national parks - they take over all profitable services and do almost no re-investment into park infrastructure. They are draining the NPS and getting rich in the process.
