Tours on bright yellow buses from as far back as the 1930s, each known as a Historic Yellow Bus, tour Yellowstone on more than a dozen itineraries. Touring in these restored buses is an elegant way to learn about the park. If the weather is warm enough, your driver, who narrates the trip, will roll back the convertible top for you to bask under the sun. The tour lineup includes Evening Wildlife Encounters, Picture Perfect Photo Safari, and Wake Up to Wildlife, all longtime crowd-pleasers. Other tours, including some all-day ones that efficiently cover huge swaths of the park, are on newer buses. Tours depart from various locations, including the Old Faithful Inn, Mammoth Hotel, and Canyon Lodge in Canyon.
