It's hard to imagine how any work could be accomplished when snow and ice blanket the region, but this historic hotel was constructed over the course of a single winter in 1903. Serving as a lodging establishment since 1904, this massive log structure is an attraction in its own right. Even if you don't spend a night at the Old Faithful Inn, walk through or take the free 45-minute guided tour to admire its massive open-beam lobby and rock fireplace (where tours begin). There are antique writing desks on the second-floor balcony, and during evening hours a pianist plays there as well. You can watch Old Faithful geyser from two second-floor outdoor decks.
