Fodor's Review

Opened in 1891, this double-colonnaded dining room off the lobby of the Lake Yellowstone Hotel is the park's most elegant dining spot. Arrive early and enjoy a beverage and the view in the airy Reamer Lounge, which debuted as a sunroom in 1928. The dinner menu includes such attractive starters as a charcuterie sampler with Montana cheeses. Lamb, bison, steak, duck, quail, and fish dishes are all served, and there's always at least one imaginative vegetarian entrée. Wines from California, Oregon, and Washington predominate on the wine list. Reservations are not needed for breakfast or lunch, but they are essential for dinner. Make them up to a year in advance with hotel reservations; otherwise, call a month ahead.
