Fodor's Review:

This mountain lodge on Brooks Lake combines great scenery with service and amenities. Built in 1922, the lodge has massive open-beam ceilings, spacious rooms, subtle lighting, and log, leather, and wicker furnishings. Each of the lodge bedrooms and cabins has handcrafted lodgepole-pine furniture. Some cabins have wood-burning stoves; the lodge suite has a full kitchen, living room, two-person Jacuzzi tub, and king-size beds. All cabins have panoramic views of the Wind River Range; some overlook Brooks Lake. Take a guided hike, go horseback riding, or fly-fish or canoe on the lake in summer. In winter you can take dogsled or snowmobile rides with outfitters. Dinner is served in the lodge dining room, or you can enjoy a drink in the small bar or tea in the adjoining den. Many evenings include music and other entertainment before or during dinner. Pros: Warm, hospitable staff; diverse menu; year-round activities; rustic location. Cons: No TV/phone; not accessible by car in winters.
