Highlights of this 1919 home built by a wealthy sheep rancher and named for five enormous spruce trees on the property include a front porch with a swing where you can sip tea or coffee. The interior design is from the Arts and Crafts period, and there are hardwood floors and beautiful gardens. The sunporch is a nice spot to curl up with a book and a cup of tea. Three rooms are on the second floor, accessible only by a staircase. The Floral Room is a garden-level basement. Pros: Lovely old home; hospitable innkeepers; close to downtown. Cons: No TV (some rooms); books fast in summers, reservations recommended.
