You can learn about bighorn sheep, including Rocky Mountain bighorn, at the National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center on the north side of Dubois. Among the mounted specimens here are the "super slam," with one of each type of wild sheep in the world, and two bighorn rams fighting during the rut. Hands-on exhibits illustrate a bighorn's body language, characteristics, and habitat. Winter tours (reserve ahead) to Whiskey Mountain provide an opportunity to see the wild sheep in its natural habitat; reservations are required and cost $25 per person.
