Jackson Hole Museum

Fodor's Review:

For some local history, visit this museum, where you can get acquainted with the early settlers and find out how Dead Man's Bar got its name. You'll also learn how Jackson elected the first all-female town government, not to mention a lady sheriff who claimed to have killed three men before hanging up her spurs. Kids can try on vintage clothes and hats and see what they'd look like as homesteaders. Among the exhibits are Native American, ranching, and cowboy artifacts.

  • Cost: $3
  • Open: Memorial Day-Sept., Mon.-Sat. 9:30-6, Sun. 10-5
