Yellow Calf Memorial Powwow

  • Dance

Fodor's Review

Native American traditional dancing is part of the Yellow Calf Memorial Powwow, usually held in early June in Ethete to honor Chief Yellow Calf, the last chief of the Arapaho tribe, 16 mi north of Lander on the Wind River Indian Reservation. For information on area cultural events, such as the Shoshone tribe's Chokecherry Festival in Lander's City Park (3rd and Fremont streets) in late August, call 307/332–5542. You can also find a calendar of Wind River cultural activities

at under "What to Do."
