Fodor's Review:

On Cody's western outskirts, off the West Yellowstone Highway, is Old Trail Town, a collection of historic buildings from Wyoming's frontier days. Also here are a cemetery for famous local mountain men, and Native American and pioneer artifacts. The buildings aren't fancy and the displays are rustic, so you really get a feel for an Old West town. Sometimes in summer Bobby Bridger, great-grandnephew of mountain man Jim Bridger, performs his "Ballad of the West" ($12) in the barn here. The three-night program describes the settlement of the West and includes stories of mountain men, Buffalo Bill Cody, and the Lakota.

  • Cost: $6
  • Open: Mid-May-mid-Sept., daily 8-8
