This small community makes a convenient, if bare-bones, base for exploring the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, which overlaps the Wyoming-Montana border. On the Wyoming side, Bighorn Lake is popular with boaters and anglers; most of the main attractions, including the majority of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range, lie on the Montana side.
