Curt Gowdy State Park

Fodor's Review:

You can fish, boat, hike, and picnic at this park named for Wyoming's most famous sportscaster, who got his start at local radio stations in the 1940s. The park, which is 20 mi west of the city, is particularly pleasant in summer and spring, when the wildflowers are in bloom.

  • Cost: $2 resident vehicles, $4 nonresident vehicles
  • Open: Daily 24 hrs; entrance fee station, 7AM-11PM
