Evanston

Evanston

Like other raucous towns established as the Union Pacific laid its tracks across Wyoming, Evanston started as a tent city. Many of the rail workers were Chinese. Today Evanston celebrates that railroad and Chinese history at Depot Square, with the UP Railroad Depot and a model of a Chinese joss house. The town makes a decent base for visiting Fort Bridger State Historic Site and Fossil Butte National Monument.
