Pfister Hotel Review

Milwaukee's grandest old hotel dates from 1893. The lobby's long, high barrel-vaulted ceiling puts you in a Victorian frame of mind from the moment you step in. Rooms are decorated with a Victorian flavor and some are odd shapes, reflecting the complications of pouring modern amenities into an old structure—but this actually adds to the charm. The Pfister is three blocks east of the lakefront. The penthouse-level bar Blu has a view of the skyline. An English tea is served in the fern-shaded dining room most afternoons.

    Comf

    This was one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. We were here for a wedding, so we only stayed one night, but I felt like I was in good hands from the minute we stepped into the ornate lobby. The room was luxurious--enough space for three people. Only problem: the heat wasn't working, but the warm comforters made up for it.

    Milwaukee's Gem

    I had never been to Milwaukee before but it wasn't hard to notice that the Pfister is the city's only five star hotel. This is with good reason. It is a beautiful hotel with an 'old' and 'new' building. We stayed in the old section which does date back to the 19th century. You feel very special surrounded by Victorian luxury. The staff was very courteous, everyone wanting to tell you about the hotel and make sure you experience everything it has to offer. The concierge was great in helping me plan where to go for dinner and what places to see. I was very happy with my stay and will definitely stay there again when I go back to Milwaukee.
