It's named after the Mader family, not after a German mama. Diners here get the ultimate old-world experience, from the Hummels that occupy niches in the entryway to the dark-wood paneled walls. And of course, you'll dine on rich German favorites; weiner schnitzel, sauerbraten, and spaetzle reign.

After visiting Munich a couple of years ago, we are always on the hunt for good German food. Mader's probably has the best food we have found. The sauerbraten was fabulous. The soup of the day was tomato basil, which may not be exactly German, but was excellent with many layers of flavor! They had rolls that were really soft pretzels shaped like rolls. I could have just eaten them and been happy we ate there! The Riesling wine was perfect! We will
definitely make this a first pick of restaurants the next time we visit Milwaukee.

Upon entering, everyone in our dinner party commented on the musty smell in the lobby. Kitchen pans were collecting a steady stream of water from the ceiling in the coat-check room. Over-priced with poor service. It took nearly 1.5 hours after ordering to prepare food for a party of 6. All steaks were ordered Medium - one was raw, another was well-done, and side dishes were forgotten. Water & beverages were never refilled. When we expressed our dissatisfaction
the hostess blamed us for not allowing more time. Very rude-no apology. Also see TMJ4's Dirty Dining Exposed
