Fodor's Expert Review Claar Cellars

This family-owned estate winery has a tasting room right off Interstate 82 and enjoys one of the highest visitor numbers of any Yakima Valley winery. Claar produces a variety of wines, including some ice wines, Sangiovese, and rare varieties such as Corneauxcopia (a blended variety) and Fouled Anchor Port, which includes cherries, raisins, honey, and maple syrup. The winery also produces traditional Merlots, Cabernets, Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs, and Rieslings. The grapes come from vineyards in the White Bluffs region, quite a distance from the vineyards.
