5 Best Nightlife in Washington Wine Country, Washington

Cowiche Creek Brewing

Fodor's choice

First-timers to this contemporary taproom on a lofty ridge 12 miles west of Yakima are usually as wowed by the mesmerizing mountain vistas as they are the lovingly crafted beers. The husband-and-wife proprietors are admitted hops admirers, and the IPA-forward beer selection reflects this penchant. On warm days have a seat on the family- and pet-friendly lawn and patio—there's often live music, and pub fare is served.

Bron Yr Aur Brewing

A popular stop after skiing or hiking in the mountains to the west, this convivial brewpub in rural Naches is named for a classic Led Zeppelin song that in Welsh means "hill of gold." This is an apt description of the surrounding semi-arid bluffs and also a nod to the mostly British-style sips, including a refreshing blonde ale with heady floral notes. Cheddar tots, pizzas, and beer-infused brownies are among the food offerings.

Mickey's Pub and Orion Cinema

At this pub inside a downtown cinema, you can opt to watch a film and push a call button for seat-side service, including beer, or just sit in the pub and skip the movie–-but maybe not the popcorn. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and personal pizzas fill the menu. Some weekend nights there's live music in the bar.

Sports Center Yakima

A Yakima standby on the town's main drag since 1904, this friendly dive is known for its signature neon sign, which depicts a sportsman pointing a rifle into the air. Inside, TV screens show pro and college games, and kitchen churns out pub favorites.

The Tap

This upbeat and airy downtown bar showcases a huge range of regional beers as well as hard ciders and seltzers, but with a twist: patrons pour their own drinks from a long wall of taps and are charged by the ounce. It's a perfect setup if you want to customize your own flight of Yakima Valley beers. The street tacos and chorizo quesadillas are quite tasty.
