The Funhouse is a huge, nonprofit activity center and museum for families. Interactive exhibits on age, hearing, kinetics, and video production, among other subjects, are all educational. Kids can explore an arts-and-crafts yurt, a climbing wall, a library, Internet stations, and a big metal "Jupiter" tree fort. Sports activities include indoor pitching cages and games, as well as an outdoor playground. Kids and adults can also take classes on music, theater, digital film, and poetry. Free programs for preteens and teenagers run Friday and Saturday nights (hint to mom and dad, who might want to enjoy dinner alone).
