Ann Starrett Mansion

Fodor's Review:

Gables, turrets, and gingerbread trim decorate this glorious 1889 mansion, a gift from a wealthy contractor to his young bride. You can climb the three-tiered hanging spiral staircase to a 70-foot-high cupola tower, where outdoor murals and red stained-glass windows catch the first light of each changing season. Each guest room is unique and beautifully decorated with American antiques. Two separate cottages have more modern furnishings and facilities. Pros: Seasonal decorations, tours for nonguests. Cons: Can bustle with nonstop activities during high seasons.

  • Hotel Details: 8 rooms, 2 cottages
  • In-room: kitchen (some).
  • Credit Cards: AE, MC, V
