Railroad Bridge Park
Railroad Bridge Park Review
Set along a beautifully serene, 25-acre stretch of the Dungeness River, the park is centered on a lacy ironwork bridge that was once part of the coastal line between Port Angeles and Port Townsend. Today the park shelters a pristine river environment. The River Walk hike-and-bike path leads from the River Center educational facility, on the banks of the Dungeness, into the woods, and a horseback track links Runnion Road with the waterway. In summer, families picnic at the River Shed pavilion, students participate in science programs at the Dungeness River Audubon Society office, and locals come to watch performances at the River Stage amphitheater. There are free guided bird walks every Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 10:15. You'll find the park 2 miles west of town, and a five-minute drive from the coast.
