Fort Worden State Park

Fodor's Review:

The manicured grounds of 443-acre Fort Worden State Park include a row of restored Victorian officers' houses, a World War II balloon hangar, and a sandy beach that leads to the Point Wilson Lighthouse. The fort, which was built on Point Wilson in 1896, 17 years after the lighthouse, hosts art events, kayaking tours, camping, and outdoor activities.
