P. S. Express (431 Water St. 360/385-5288. www.pugetsoundexpress.com) has run summer speedboat connections between Port Townsend and Friday Harbor for more than 20 years. The round trips costs $52.50. May through September, boats depart from Port Townsend at 8:30, arriving in Friday Harbor at noon; the return trip departs from Friday Harbor at 3:30 and arrives back in Port Townsend at 5:30. Whale-watching trips from Friday Harbor depart at 12:15 and cost $25.
