Red Caboose Getaway Review

Vintage metal railcars form the centerpiece of this bed-and-breakfast, where guests can experience the romance of the rails and sleep in luxury cabooses, each with a different theme. There's the Casey Jones, with the original conductor's desk and intercom and other train memorbilia; the bright-red Orient Express is a cozy, wood-infused space; the family-size Circus Caboose has a boat-shape jetted tub and two extra bunks; another has an Old West desert theme, complete with feather bed and antique claw-foot bathtub; and other options honor the area's lavender fields and boutique wineries. Cupolas atop five of the six cabooses afford views of the Olympic Mountains. The gleaming Silver Eagle restaurant, in an elegant 1937 Zephyr dining car, turns out hot, multi-course breakfasts on china, crystal, and white linen.
