Fodor's Review

Paris meets the Pacific Northwest in this Uptown bistro. Starting out as a pâtissierie in 2001, it still serves espresso and baked treats in its cozy, French-inspired coffee shop, but don't forego a full meal in the lavender-lined courtyard or casually elegant, intimate dining room, with chocolate-colored wainscoting and pistachio-tinted walls. The menu is classic French bistro with a fresh, contemporary, farm-to-table flair—chef/owner Laurette Feit sources her ingredients, including grass-fed beef, organic eggs, and wild king salmon, from local farmers and fishermen. Exquisitely presented entrées—think lamb shanks with creamy polenta; steak au poivre; king salmon topped with black olive and sun-dried tomato butter—feature beautifully-balanced flavors, colors, and textures. Profiteroles, flourless chocolate torte, and crème brûlée are signature desserts. Breakfast and lunch selections are equally accomplished.
