Ft. Columbia State Park and Interpretive Center

Ft. Columbia State Park and Interpretive Center Review

Ft. Columbia State Park and Interpretive Center blends so well into a rocky knob above the river that it's all but invisible from land or water (U.S. 101 passes underneath, via tunnel). The 1902 bastions offer great views of the river's mouth and of the river flowing past the foot of the cliff. In spring the slopes are fragrant with wildflowers. The interpretive center has displays on barracks life and Chinook Indian culture. Two historic buildings on the property are available for vacation rental.
