Seattle Great Wheel

Seattle Great Wheel Review

Wanna hitch a ride to fantastic Seattle views? Opened in the summer of 2012, in the waterfront area of Downtown and just steps from Pike Place Market and the Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Great Wheel is a 175-foot (about 17 stories tall) ferris wheel. As you round the top, enjoy views of Seattle, Puget Sound, and the Olympics (on a nice day of course). Rides are slow and smooth, lasting 15 to 20 minutes, with three revolutions total. Each gondola can hold six people (up to eight if some are children) and, generally speaking, parties get to stick together. Advance tickets are strongly recommended—you'll still have to wait in line, but the line is a lot shorter. For $50 per ticket, you can get to the front of the line and ride the VIP gondola, a special luxury ride complete with leather bucket seats, a glass floor, an iPod system, and a free T-shirt.
