Lake Union Park
Lake Union Park Review
Before this scenic park at the foot of Lake Union was completed, most people traveled up to Wallingford's Gas Works Park to enjoy Lake Union from a green space. Now the southern shore is more accessible and vibrant than ever—this 12-acre park includes a model boat pond, a boardwalk, a beach where you can launch small craft like kayaks and rowboats to paddle past the houseboats, a spray area for little kids, plus the Museum of History & Industry and the Center for Wooden Boats. Several cruise options also depart from the park. Take the Mini-Ferry across Lake Union to UW or vice versa ($5 each way), or take a 45-minute narrated Ice Cream Cruise (Sundays, on the hour from 11 to 5, $11).
