Volunteer Park Café

Volunteer Park Café Review

Cute as a button, and completely beloved by the locals who flock here, VPC couldn't have chosen a more appropriate website name: AlwaysFreshGoodness.com. Indeed! There's a general store/farmhouse feeling to this café (maybe it's the chickens in the backyard garden), and wholesome, decadent pastries, cookies, and cakes are piled high at the counter. Dinners manage to feel both homemade and elegant, with very good pastas, risottos, fresh fish, and fine cuts of meat complemented by a dynamite, small selection of Washington wines. Our favorite time to come, though, is for weekend brunch: the pastries are simply divine, as are sandwiches, quiches, and other egg dishes. Be prepared for weekend crowds.
